WHAT TIME IS THE FAIR's RECRUITING?
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where do I get my registration packet
and parking pass?
Confirmation packets will be mailed to organizations
upon receipt of the registration. You may pick up parking passes and packets at the Career
Fair Reception on Tuesday evening, September 9, from 5:30-7:30
p.m. at the South End Zone.
Where should I park when I first arrive,
the morning of the Fall Focus Career Fair?
To Squires Student Center (From I-81 S):
Take
exit 118B Christiansburg, Blacksburg 460 West. Continue on 460 West
for 9 miles.
Go
through the stoplight at Southgate Road, take the next exit toward
downtown.
If
you are unloading at Squires:
You are now on Prices Fork Road. (The Holiday Day Inn University
is ahead on your left.) At the third stoplight take a right (Wendy's
is on your right). Go through 1 stop light. Take a right onto Alumni
Mall. Continue down this road until you reach the bridge over the
mall; at that point, make a U-turn, so that you are on the other
side of the road. Once you turn around Squires will be on your right.
Unload at receiving Dock A.
After
unloading you will be directed to the Special Event parking area
across campus. Shuttles will be provided throughout the day to take
people back and forth from this parking area to Squires Student
Center.
There will be volunteers outside Squires Student Center, to assist
you in unloading your boxes, etc. Upon Checking In at the Employer
Check-In Table, where you will be issued your parking permit (if
you have not already received it), we ask that you follow the directions
below, to the designated FALL FOCUS PARKING AREA. SHUTTLE VAN SERVICES
WILL BE RUNNING ROUND THE CLOCK, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, to bring
you to and from the parking lot, and Squires Student Center.
To
Parking Area from Squires Student Center---(DESIGNATED FALL FOCUS
PARKING AREA)
1.
Squires Student Center is on Alumni Mall. Continue straight on
Alumni Mall. Make a U-turn close to Main Street and come back down the mall.
2. Turn RIGHT at the stop sign at the top of the drillfield. Continue straight (around the drillfield), and take a RIGHT at the stop sign at the opposite end of the drillfield onto West Campus Drive.
3 . Take the first LEFT onto Duck Pond Drive. Follow Duck Pond Drive around the Duck Pond, passing the Holtzman Alumni Center entrance, the gold course, and the Overflow Parking area. The SPECIAL EVENT PARKING area will be on your right just past the end of the Duck Pond. Signs will be posted at the entrance to the parking area. A phone number will also be listed on the signs for representatives to call to have the shuttle pick them up.
4 . Shuttle vans will circle the parking area to pick up riders
(average is about 20 minute loop).
From
Parking Area to Squires Student Center:
From
the parking area, turn LEFT onto Duck Pond Drive.
At
the stop sign, turn RIGHT onto West Campus Drive.
Turn LEFT onto Drillfield Drive and continue straight around the drillfield.
Turn
RIGHT onto Alumni Mall just past the Library. Squires Student
Center will be on your right.
What if I do not attend the reception?
You will get all the employer information you will need, including
parking passes, when you check in, the day of the fair.
What
size are the booths?
Booths are 8'wide x 4' deep or 10' wide X 4' deep. Each booth has
one 6' table with chairs and will be piped/draped on three sides.
What
should I do about shipping booth supplies for Fall Focus Career
Fair?
Once registered, you will receive an electronic information notice
from Hollins Exposition Services regarding shipping information.

Is
power provided at the fair?
Yes, power will be provided to every booth, 110 volt duplex electrical
outlets (at no extra charge).

Where
can I unload my vehicle for the Fall Focus Career Fair?
You will be able to unload on 'The Mall' (Alumni Mall Drive) side
of Squires Student Center, click here for a map of campus. Squires
is a yellow building (180) on the campus
map.

What is the typical employer attire for the fair?
In the past, many recruiters dress in professional attire, but just
as many prefer business casual -- students are encouraged to be
dressed in business attire.
